For example, financial literacy is greater for those with more formal education, those who received financial education, and those with higher incomes. Men and older individuals also tend to have greater financial literacy than women and younger adults. Webfinancial literacy continues to persist even after taking into account marital status, education, income, and other socioeconomic characteristics. Moreover, we find a gender gap in financial literacy even among the young—this in spite of younger women having higher education levels and labor force participation.
