I think they 3700 is a larger boat: wider and taller. My biased opinion, I think the 3500 sails better than the 3700 or 3800. The 3700 may have a Volvo sail-drive. Tartan had issues with Yanmar and had to switch to Volvo. I prefer the Yanmar and shaft drive with our 3500.
